i'm back bizzas!!
after a long absence i'm back into corpus and back to school. The past couple of days i've had orientation for Lowe's and the best part is i'm getting paid for that next week already. nice eh? anywho, i went home last thursday nite and camped out in mcallen. it was nice seeing the family and celebrating a couple b-days. my mom's and luis's. saturday we had a nice bbq and sunday morning was spent at church and afterwards gassing up for the trip back to corpus so i can get to work on time. friday though, we went down to SPI and had a fun time fishing down there. When we left we had doubts about our fishing trip due to massive winds. the winds were terrible that day and finally we decided to head down anyway and see what was happening.
we arrived and bought some bait and headed down to the jetties. since it was in the middle of the week there was hardly anyone out there. we picked a spot and immediately i could see the difference in fishing the plain surf and fishing the jetties. out in the channel there was semi-clean water but out towards the end of the jetties there was dirty water with alot of birds working. on the surf side the water was fairly clean for about 50 yards then it got dirty brown b/c of the wind. near the jetties it was a nice color, fishable with lures. so i tied on my trusty DOA and began working the edges and nothing. switched to fishbites tipped with a little shrimp and caught a sandie. fishing was slow, but the fish were there. you could see them rising and looking around. there was a school of something right up against the rocks, and i couldn't tell if they were skipjacks or small bonnet heads. they moved like sharks so i'll say that they were small bonnet heads. i say that b/c they never stopped moving. every fish stops moving at some point, these didn't. most people prolly won't believe me, but i know the difference between how a shark moves and how a fish moves. anywho, i got bored and decided to try to hit those birds near the end of the jetties.
So i walked all the way down to the end and began tossing my fav topwater lure out in the channel. nothing. the water was way too rough for anything to even see it or hear it i guess. so i gave up on the channel side and began working it on the calmer surf side. first cast i see something chasing it andfeel something on the other end of the line. bring it up and see that i hooked a needlenose. funny i thought, but i didn't want to take any chances since i forgot my pliers with my parents. so i killed the fish and kept it for bait. i hear those are good for trout bait... so i kept it. nice eh? so along i go and i see i'm the only one out there on the end. it was funny... but nice. didn't have to worry about snagging some brat. so i kept fishing with my topwater and noticed needlenose would take a snap at it everyonce in a while, so i brought it in closer to the rocks. couple casts went by and nothing, then i see a nice trout rise up off of one of the slightly submerged rocks and take a swipe at my lure. this was a nice trout from what i could tell, easily would go 20". first swipe missed so i stopped the lure and had it sit in the water and then it came up again and popped it. freaking sweet sight, but i didn't put the hooks in it. oh well... that's the way fishing goes i guess. tried for another 10 mins trying to get it to try again but no go. so i gave up and walked back to my parents fishing along the way. never got another strike, but had birds going after my lure most of the way back. stupid birds.
that was most of the excitement that happened... we fished some more after we ate. and caught some whiting in the channel and catfish on some shiners we castnetted at a boat dock. it was a fun day and it was nice to spend it with my parents. i just wished the whole family could've come up that weekend like planned so i could've taken them out to PINS. i'm sure they would've loved that.
so that was the weekend. saturday nite i met up with kimi and caughtup with her. i'm kicking myself for not giving marc a call. on the bright side i'll be going home at some point.
school started today too. so far i've only had one class, but it looks like its going to be a smooth semester. one can only hope though. i have one of my major courses tonite at 5:30 so i'll be looking forward to that. working though... uff... i kinda wish i could get some more hours, but now i have two jobs. Lowe's and biglots. what a combo. but yea, i'll be working in the lawn and garden center at lowe's and working w/e at biglots. prolly just frieght. thurs. nite thru sunday i'll be working lowe's and monday-wed i'll be working big lots.
This friday will be my last enjoyable friday so i'm going to go fishing. Post up if you wanna join me, the more the merrier. i asked heather but she doesn't want to go in the morning. i wanna keep cool... so i'm going in the morning. after that i'll prolly go take heather to see a movie, which one i dunno, but something. she wanted to see open water, but i dunno, i've heard it was stupid, so we'll see on that one. well that is all for now i guess i'm running out of things to type. not only that, but this is a looooong post so i guess you'll have your hands full reading it. and i bet by now you're tired of reading, so i'll go watch tv and let you catch up...

money money money monies monay
seems like i could use a lot more of it... just to pay bills. not to buy anything extravagant. oh well... went down to the island today with heather. she needed to get out for a bit, since she's so busy with her job. so after work i picked up my junk and picked up heather. got down to the beach about 3 pm or so and drove about 3 or 4 miles down the beach to a nice spot. caught mostly whiting on fishbites up until the "minnows" started moving. after that i had a blast on topwaters catching/releasing skipjacks and some small trout. trout were just short. bah. oh well, not like i haven't caught keepers before. no big deal.
tomorrow i have work again at 6 am and then wednesday i work a nite. then thursday i might be off down to BIG SHELL. werd up. maybe, not for sure yet. a friend from work is working on that. if not, then nothing wrong with wading the bays for some reds.
for those of you back home, i'm coming down to the valley on thursday nite. HOPEFULLY. if not sooner b/c of that blasted hurricane or T.S. out there in the gulf. we'll haev to wait and see. but like i said, should be home thursday nite, so call a brotha up and we'll slam back a few drinks. cokes... or rootbeers. i prefer rootbeers right now. barq's especially. friday i might go down to SPI and fish. i'll post a report of that fo'so when i'm back.

Much ado about nothing
Well... went to work today, and missed out on a fishing tournament that i could've participated in... dammit. i wanted to be in it, but i worked all day. i wanted to fish it not b/c i thought i had a chance at winning it, but b/c of the benefit. fishing for HALO flight. you know, the ones that fly your ass when you're dying to a hospital? yea those. i figure someday they might be able to help me out. nice eh?
work was hell... 10 to 6:30 uff. that's all that's going to be said about that. heather and i went out earlier... wingstop...
Went down to PINS on friday... about the 3mm and had a blast with topwaters again. and norton mardi gras minnow. skipjacks ate 'em up. small trout and tail slaps by much bigger ones... next time i'll switch to a jerk bait. oh well...
well that's about it. work tomorrow at 3. so yea, no fishing i guess...

It's raining
yep. its raining alot. hopefully it won't flood all hardcore like it usually does. i don't feel like having to wade out to my truck in the morning to get to work. speaking of, i have been working alot lately... as you may have noticed my updates have been far and few inbetween. I went out fishing on tuesday and didn't catch a whole lot... bait was scarce and there were few trout willing to be caught. the ones i did were caught on mardi gras colored norton and my trust DOA.
not a whole lot else has been going on in my life. heather is back into town and it seems we have gotten back into the swing of things... she has her work and i have mine... which is keeping me oddly busy. if that even makes sense...
sadly, one of my co-workers lost her little boy this past week. my thoughts and prayers go out to her and her husband. such is life... we do not know why things like this happen to good people. Or any people for that matter. there is never an explanation which is deemed fit to explain such a tragedy in someone's life such as this... no one knows why, and perhaps we aren't meant to know why at this present time... but perhaps later on. Then and only then will we know why and understand.
well... keep on keepin' on. that is all that we can do in this life. enjoy it while it lasts 'cuz you don't have all the time in the world to ensure that things will "eventually" go your way. Make them.

Sitting around
Just woke up and not really feeling like doing much. so here i am. I'm waiting for heather to get back into town... she's suppose to be here in the next hour or so. from there we'll see what happens.
I went down to PINS yesterday, got myself a new pass and headed down the beach in search of my first spanish mackeral. no go. but oh well i had fun. around 6 the fish started being active and i was able to have fun tossing my topwater and watch it get slapped and popped. only hooked onto 2 small trout, but i know some bigger ones escaped my hooks. the water was soo clear and you could see the fish before they popped the lure, it was great. fun day to be out. best of all, i remembered sun block, no redness for me. yay.
well that is all for now, heather's coming back so i'm gonna help her move whatever stuff she has into her apt. it shouldn't be that much, she didn't take home but 4 boxes of stuff...

yay for colors...
so now i'm into this colored text stuff. if it hurts your eyes let me know...
i went fishing today. had fun catching small reds all day. from other reports, seems that all that was biting today were reds... small ones. but still fun nontheless. so after my fishing expedition, i stopped off at taco bell to get food. little did i realize that before i got out of the truck i forgot to take the keys outta the ignition... gg. so after i ate, i broke into my truck and got home. no fish to clean, so it was a nice day... so nice that i decided to clean the apt. so now it smells like "after the rain". werd. i even did laundry. wow what a productive day.
Heather comes back on saturday. so hopefully i'll have some money left over after bills to be able to take her out or something. if i don't hopefully she'll understand. well... not much else to say. i'm off on friday/sat so more fishing on friday. then saturday heather comes back, so i'll help her move in... what little she has to move back. well i'm playing pool with her again... well can't really say playing b/c i'm just beating her down. but oh well i guess its the only thing i can win at against her, so might as well enjoy it i guess...

well today was a fun day... went to class and then went to work. we were short handed 2 ppl at work and now i'm playing heather at yahoo pool... for the 2nd "session" tonite. i whooped up on her a couple games and now she wants to kick my ass... we'll see how long we play into the nite.
not a whole else has happened... other than the fact that i realized that i haven't been fishing ina while. so guess what i'm going to do tomorrow after class? yep, you guessed it, i'm going fishing.

Tired.
very tired. woke up this morning at 5:30, and not to go fishing like i did on saturday. went to work, help unload the truck and was gone by 11. lemme tell you... WOW. that's it. just WOW. it was rough, but even rougher trying to stay awake in my class. its so boring that i just want to put my head down and sleep... but i don't and i trail off every now and then. all i know is that the instructor didn't put the grade on our papers... or something like that and didn't hand them back to us today. meh.
i was going to go fishing today, but i'm just too tired to even go the process or thinking about it. so now i'm just sitting in front of the pooter. i'm about to go to sleep though. i think i need it.
Talked to heather earlier... her family was planning on coming down tomorrow, and then she would've been here earlier, but no go. last min change of plans or something of that nature, so she'll be coming back to CC on saturday. oh well. as a result i won't be going home this weekend.
the next time i'll prolly have any time to go down will be in september, but who knows. by that time i think lowe's will be up and running so i'll be working there. as a result... no more free time. not that i had any to begin with... oh well i'll blog more later, if i feel like it. werd up.
